What An Evening!

Thank you all for making our evening with Alexander McCall Smith such a success. I hope you had as much fun as Scott and I did. The support for Elephant Havens has been humbling and we thank you all.

I want to congratulate the winner of our African Safari raffle, Shannon Newsome. Shannon visited Elephant Havens last year, and we look forward to welcoming her back. We would also love to see each one of you there! Please reach out to me if you are interested in visiting the orphanage.

Thanks again to Wilderness Safaris for donating four nights in two of their luxurious camps for the raffle. I saw many of you visiting with James Currie, their brand ambassador, at the event.

I’m sorry Bee wasn’t able to be with us, but with the drought that Botswana is experiencing, this is a critical time for our team to be standing by for a rescue call. Right now we are getting calls about abandoned baby elephants daily.

Each of those orphans deserves a chance at life and you can help give it to them. As you can imagine, each rescue trip is costly with expenses that include gasoline for transportation, daily costs for the vet and handlers, plus formula and medicines for the baby when they return to Elephant Havens.

We are growing and we hope you will think about our Foundation for holiday gifts to friends or for end-of-year giving. One of our generous donors offered to match dollar for dollar every donation until the end of the year up to $30,000! With your help, we could raise $60,000 by December 31st.

As I have said so many times before, none of our accomplishments would have been possible without each one of you helping us financially or cheering us on—or both! We are a great team and together we are making a difference in so many lives.

Thank you again for all the support and love.

Debra Stevens and Scott Jackson
