Foster Me!
Chanoga’s story is an especially unfortunate one. Her mother had ventured near some local farmers’ land in search of food, with her little girl in tow. To protect the crops, a farmer fired a shotgun, hitting the mom in the right front leg. Because of this injury, she couldn’t travel away from the community. She was deemed a threat to human life by the Department of Wildlife and was to be put down.
Before she was euthanized, though, we were called in to rescue the baby. Luckily, we were only 20km away and got there quickly. We were able to tranquilize the sweet girl and put her in the truck, so she didn’t have to witness this traumatic event. With lots of love (and treats), she is feeling safer and more trusting of our humans every day.
